Educational profile
Teaching forms a significant part of IFRO’s work, and as a department with a broad social science focus, IFRO offers teaching in many different fields.
It is not possible to address the major local and global societal challenges – such as the environmental, climate and biodiversity crises – without an understanding of society and the economy. The department’s teaching therefore focuses on social science topics, both within the social sciences and across degree programmes in the natural sciences, life sciences and veterinary medicine. This is entirely unique in a Danish academic context, but has strong parallels at leading international universities.
IFRO teaches, amongst other things, economics, politics, law, sociology, natural resource management, philosophy of science, ethics, methodology and project work, innovation and entrepreneurship.
