Questions about admission to master’s programmes
The application deadline has passed
The application deadline for master’ degree programmes for applicants from outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland has passed for study start in September 2026.
The application portal will open again for applicants from outside EU, EEA and Switzerland on 15 November with a deadline 15 January at 23:59 (CET) 2027.
FAQ: The 5 most frequently asked questions
We do not have the resources to provide preliminary assessments of eligibility for admission.
You must check the academic requirements for specific programmes and compare them to the coursework in your bachelor's degree.
You can always find programme-specific requirements on the programme page. If you have an international bachelor's degree, you must always find the specific requirements relevant to you under ‘Other Danish and international education’.
If you are in doubt, we recommend that you apply for admission, and let the Admissions Committee assess after the application deadline, if you meet the admission requirements.
Documentation requirements depend on your application type. Follow these steps:
- Find the page for the programme you would like to apply for.
- Go to section 2, " Admission and application".
- Under "Documentation", select your application type.
- Read the instructions carefully.See all master’s programmes
No, we cannot pre-assess if your documentation (e.g. GPA-calculator, transcript, self-assessment etc.) is filled out correctly and/or is valid.
Should we need additional required documentation, we will send you a message through the application portal, after the application deadline.
The deadline for uploading any missing documents will be 1 week from the time we contact you. Make sure to check your email regularly including your spam filter.
All applicants must provide documentation demonstrating that they meet the language requirements for the programme they are applying for.
The University of Copenhagen only accepts the documentation specified here as proof that the language requirements have been met. The requirements cannot be fulfilled by any means other than those stated on that page. There are no exemptions to this.
If you do not submit the required documentation, or if the documentation is incomplete, your application cannot be processed and will therefore be rejected.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with all applicable rules and requirements, and that all documentation is submitted correctly and before the deadline.Read how to fulfil the language requirement
When we evaluate whether you meet the admission requirements, Danish legislation only allows us to assess your bachelor's degree.
Consequently, courses taken after the completion of your bachelor's degree, including courses from a master’s programme, cannot be considered when assessing whether you meet the admission requirements.

Questions about state education grant (SU)
In Denmark, students can receive monthly financial support from the Danish state to cover living expenses for students. It’s called SU (state education grant).
The SU Office at the University of Copenhagen offers guidance on SU rules.
