Grading scale

Danish 7-point grading scale

The Danish 7-point grading scale is used to assess performance in your education. The scale ranges from -3 to 12 and is used in primary and lower secondary school, upper secondary education, and higher education.

The minimum grade to pass an exam is 02. In addition to the Danish 7-point grading scale, a pass/fail system can also be used.

ECTS credits

The Danish grading scale is adapted to ECTS - European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System - so that grades can be compared internationally.

Note that your grade on the 7-point scale does not affect the number of ECTS points you are awarded for a passed course. ECTS points are about the workload, while the grade indicates your academic level.
