By order of the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science it is no longer possible to use degrees from English speaking countries to document English requirements at the University of Copenhagen.
Common Documentation Deadline for Language Requirements
For students applying for admission with study start 1 September 2026 or later
A common deadline for documenting language requirements will be introduced across all master's programmes at the university.
This means that you must provide documentation that you meet the language requirements by the application deadline. If you have taken one of the accepted language tests, the result must be passed and received by the university no later than the day of the application deadline.
Minimum Subscores for TOEFL and IELTS
For students applying for admission with study start 1 September 2027 or later
A minimum subscores for TOEFL and IELTS will be introduced for English A and B levels across all master's programmes at the university.
To meet the English language requirement based on a TOEFL or IELTS test, you must provide documentation of the following:
TOEFL
- English at A-level: A total TOEFL score of at least 100, with a minimum score of 20 in each subcategory.
- English at B-level: A total TOEFL score of at least 83, with a minimum score of 20 in each subcategory.
IELTS
- English at A-level: A total IELTS score of at least 7.0, with a minimum score of 6.0 in each subcategory.
- English at B-level: A total IELTS score of at least 6.5, with a minimum score of 6.0 in each subcategory.
