About the programme
Many questions can be explained if you know the prehistory, and that is precisely what history is about: explaining the connection between the world as it is today and the past.
This programme is only offered in Danish.
What makes the programme at UCPH unique?
The History master’s degree programme at the University of Copenhagen introduces history from Antiquity to the present day, with a particular focus on Danish, European, Western American and global history in the broadest sense. We offer courses in areas such as political history, cultural history, social history, global history, local history, colonial history, postcolonial history, environmental history, and many others.Why is this programme relevant?
You will gain the qualifications needed to teach or conduct research. You may also work as a communications officer or project manager. Historians are also employed in consultancy roles and within the media. Your experience in presenting historical knowledge, both in writing and orally, equips you with skills that are just as applicable to contemporary issues as they are to historical subjects.
