Professional profile
The Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences (PLEN) offers an interdisciplinary programme of study focusing on the sustainable use of natural resources, plant sciences, the environment, food and biotechnology. The department trains students to understand and address current societal challenges in areas such as food production, biodiversity, climate, the environment and the green transition.
A common feature of the department’s programmes is a strong foundation in the natural sciences, combined with a focus on developing innovative and sustainable solutions for the benefit of society, industry and the environment.
In short, the academic profile is characterised by research-intensive teaching and an ambition to train graduates who can contribute to the green solutions of the future within agriculture, environmental management, biotechnology and the bioeconomy.
