Organic Chemistry explores the design, synthesis, and application of molecules, materials, and chemical processes that address key societal challenges in energy, health, and sustainability. 

Research in the section spans advanced organic synthesis and molecular design, catalysis, supramolecular chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and functional materials. 

We also develop data-driven and automated approaches that accelerate the discovery of new molecules, reactions, and sustainable chemical technologies.

Research Groups

The research groups in Organic Chemistry work on the development of new organic molecules, materials, and synthetic methods, as well as the investigation of reaction mechanisms and molecular properties.

Together, the groups cover a broad range of research areas, spanning biomimetic catalysis, sensors, and medical applications through to energy- and environment-related technologies.
