The university’s primary colours are UCPH red and UCPH grey/black. These are complemented by a range of secondary colours that support the visual identity.
The primary colours help create a recognisable visual expression across platforms and materials. The secondary colours provide flexibility and can be used to support different types of communication.
Primary colours
The primary colours are part of the foundation of the university’s visual identity.
UCPH red is used in the emblem and is the central identity colour. UCPH grey is used for the wordmark in print, while UCPH black is used for the digital wordmark.

Secondary colours
UCPH’s secondary colours complement the primary colour palette with shades of blue, blue-green and green.
They are inspired by the colours of Copenhagen – from the city’s lakes and nearby sea to colourful façades, weathered copper roofs and green spaces.
Colours from the images used in an individual layout can also be used to complement the colour palette and create a cohesive colour scheme.

Colours for the new web design
The colour palette for UCPH’s new web design is based on UCPH’s secondary colours.
Each colour theme consists of four colours, all defined by the same base colour. The colour themes create a harmonious and cohesive visual expression on a website and therefore cannot be combined.
On the web, colours must always be used with accessibility in mind, and the colour palette has therefore been developed to meet the requirements of EU accessibility legislation.
