Contemporary Buddhist Studies

Contemporary Buddhist Studies is a research cluster exploring how contemporary Buddhist ideas and practices influence, and are influenced by, the social, economic, material and more-than-human relations in which they are embedded. Since 2016, we have brought together scholars from different disciplines to further research in the field of contemporary Buddhism within four strategic research areas: Buddhism in the Anthropocene, Buddhism and waste, Buddhism and economy, as well as materials and materiality in Buddhism.
