The programme is tailored to fit into the busy schedule of a health-care professional. This is achieved by offering all courses with a flexible online learning component combined with a short and intensive in-person course in Copenhagen, Denmark. 

Throughout the two-year programme, participants are expected to make a total of six trips to Copenhagen, Denmark, as follows:

  • First four courses involve a flexible online learning period followed by a one-week course held at the University of Copenhagen.
  • The clinical course consists of a flexible online learning period followed by a three-week clinical stay at the Danish Headache Center.
  • For the Master’s project, students receive personalized academic guidance, available online if needed. The culmination of this project is an oral examination held in Copenhagen.

This is a part of the Copenhagen Summer University.

    Medical Degree from University of Copenhagen 1981. Neurological residency at University Hospitals in Copenhagen. Fellowship at The Headache Clinic in Gentofte Hospital, University of Copenhagen under supervision of Professor Jes Olesen, and received a medical doctoral degree from University of Copenhagen in 1999.

Rigmor has been associated professor and lecturer at The University of Copenhagen since 1997 and was appointed as professor in Headache and Neurological Pain in 2007. Has conducted or been involved in numerous epidemiological, clinical, and neurophysiological studies of migraine, tension-type and cluster headache since 1988. Rigmor has published more than 250 scientific papers in refereed journals and more than 50 text books chapters and had been the supervisor of 3 doctoral theses and 12 PhD theses.

The Master of Headache Disorders is 60 ECTS credits, equivalent to one year of full-time study. The programme is designed to be completed over a span of two years, allowing health-care professionals to study alongside a full-time job.
