Prorector awarded communication prize.
This years Rosenkjær Award, also known as DR's
communication award went to EU expert and Prorector of the
University of Copenhagen, Lykke Friis.
The prize is awarded once a year to a prominent figure
that has facilitated the communication of difficult topics
in an understandable way to a wider audience.
'- 'I am naturally both happy and proud to receive the
award. Communicating to the wider public has always been
important to me,' said Friis.
- 'The difficulty lies in finding the right balance
between professionalism and communication.' Friis also drew
attention to how special it is to receive the award exactly
20 years since the fall of the Berlin wall.
The honour comes with 40,000 kroner, and it is a
tradition that the winner of the prize commits to giving six
radio talks on P1. Radio listeners can look forward to an
interesting series of talks on the new Europe, the focus of
Lykke Friis' work.
The last time the prize was awarded to someone from the
University of Copenhagen was in 2006, when astrophysicist
Anja C. Andersen, from the Niels Bohr Institute, won the
prize.
