Deep Mysteries of the Universe: Did Something Precede the Big Bang?

Guest lecture by Sir Roger Penrose, Emeritus Rouse Ball Professor at Oxford University.

All are welcome - no registration necessary.

Date: Friday 14 December

Time: 14:00-16:00

Place: South Campus, auditorium 23.0.50 (KUA)

Sir Roger Penrose is famous for his work in mathematics, theoretical physics and consciousness. He has written several popular-scientific books, including:

  • The Emperor's New Mind (1989)
  • Shadows of the Mind (1994)
  • The Road to Reality: A Complete Guide to the Laws of the Universe (2004)

In his lecture, he will discuss his views on the Big Bang – and the possibility that something has preceded the Big Bang.

The lecture does not require an understanding of mathematics or science in general, but is accessible to all.

The event is hosted by the Danish Society for Philosophy and Psychology and Department of Media, Cognition and Communications at University of Copenhagen.
