Lessons of Peace Processes

The conference is a ground breaking attempt to derive common experiences from peace processes in Asia and Europe in order to resolve ongoing disputes in the two regions.

  • President Martti Ahtisaari, PhD. President of Finland 1994-2000, mediator of several peace talks, including the Aceh Peace Talks
  • Amb. Sastrohandoyo Wiryono. Negotiator of Aceh Peace Talks, Mediator in Cambodia and Mindanao Peace Processes, former Chairman of the ASEF Board of Governors

Background

The conference sets off a new network under the auspice of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) framework, under ASEM Education HUB Programme. At the conference, the network will present its theme, main scholars and resource persons behind its core projects.
