Mr Yale arrives
The UN does it, WWF does it, and the government does it.
Everybody talks about what we can do improve the global
climate together and individually. Yale has been doing it
for a long time, and has already set an ambitious goal for
reducing CO2 emissions.
On Monday 21 January, Yale President Richard Levin visits
the University of Copenhagen. He will give a speech about
sustainability and how Yale has made a plan for reducing CO2
emissions that may inspire others to do the same (Leading by
example: Creating a Sustainable Campus). The event takes
place in the University’s ceremonial hall. Prior to his
visit, all interested can post a video question for Richard
Levin at www.virtual.ku.dk
(Copenhagen UniVirtual). A selection of the questions
will be shown on a big screen during the debate. After the
event, the debate can be viewed on the site as a web cast.
Richard Levin’s speech at the University is a run-up to a
climate congress hosted by, among others, Yale and the
University of Copenhagen for climate researchers in
Copenhagen 2009. The congress will conclude in a climate “toolbox”,
to be used by politicians when they have to decide how the
world community will reduce global warming in the future.
Richard Levin will meet with the Minister for Climate and
Energy Connie Hedegaard during his visit in Copenhagen.
After the public speech, the press will be able to ask
questions for Richard Levin at a press conference in
Committee Room 1.
Time and Place: Monday 21 January from 16:00
-17:30 in the Ceremonial Hall, Frue Plads, Copenhagen.
