Crown Prince Frederik awards scholarships  to students

On 7 June 2007, the Crown Prince presented the scholarships to economy-student Guan Yang and political science-student Thomas Emil Jensen. The scholarships are from the Crown Prince Frederik Fund that supports social science students financially for one year of studying at John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, USA.

Excellent students

Guan Yang is born in China and came to Denmark at the age of five. He achieved his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen in 2006. Guan has had several corporate student-jobs and he has been assistant lecturer at the University. He has also arranged study trips for his fellow students and held a number of honorary positions.

Thomas Emil Jensen studies political science with a focus on political theory and international relations. He achieved his bachelor’s degree from the University of Copenhagen in 2004 and has since studied a year at London School of Economics and Political Science. Besides being a student, he teaches at the Royal Danish Defence College and works as instructor at the University. From 2002 to 2005, Thomas was president for the organisation "Denmark Against Landmines" (Danmark mod Landminer).

Crown Prince Frederik Fund

The Fund was a gift to the Crown Prince from a group of Danish-Americans. The Crown Prince received the gift for his 25th birthday while he studied at Harvard. It is the 14th time the Crown Prince gives away scholarships from the fund.
