Culture and the Configuring of Security: using Asian perspectives to
inform theoretical direction.
Conference invitation and call for papers.
Researchers (including doctoral students) and other
specialists with particular interest and insights into Asian
security aspects are invited to participate in the second
annual Nordic NIAS Council (NNC) conference on 6-9 November
2007 in Höör, Sweden.
The mission of the conference is to engage contemporary
theory from several fields in an investigation of empirical
data from Asia and, conversely, bring insights from the
Asian contexts to bear upon theories of security.
Call for papers
The conference features four keynote presentations
focusing on macro- and micro-level aspects of security. The
organisers welcome papers from senior researchers as well as
doctoral students and others with an interest in the
conference topic. The deadline for papers is 2 July 2007.
A PhD workshop on Asian security issues will be held in
conjunction with the conference.
