Honorary Doctors of 2007

This years Honorary Doctors were promoted Thursday 16 November at the University’s annual commemoration ceremony in the Ceremonial Hall.

The Honorary Doctors are researchers that have contributed significantly within their field of research. They are honoured for the work they have done at the University of Copenhagen as either guest lecturers or as research partners.

HRH Queen Margrethe II and HRH Prince Henrik attended the ceremony and greeted the Honorary Doctors. The ceremony was followed by a reception and later in the evening the Honorary Doctors and other guests of the University were invited to see La Bohéme in the Copenhagen Opera House.

The Honorary Doctors of 2007 are:

The Honorary Doctorate in Theology:

• Pastor emeritus Jens Birch Lyster, Broager
• Professor, PhD. M.A. Mohamed Salih, Institute of Social Studies, The Hague.

The Honorary Doctorate in Medicine:

• Professor, MD., PhD. Gustav Konrad von Schultess, Klinik für Nuklearmedizin, UniversitetsSpital Zürich.
• Professor, PhD. John W. Lynch, Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health, Mc Gill University.
• Professor Kirsten Sandvig, Institutt for Kreftforskning, afdeling for Biokjemi, Radiumhospitalet, Oslo.

The Honorary Doctorate in Philosophy:

• Professor Paolo Matthiae, Dipartimento di Scienze Storiche, Archeologiche e Antropologiche dell’ Antichità, Università degli Studi di Roma.
• Professor, FD, Orvar Löfgren, Etnologiska Institutionen, Lunds Universitet.
• Nicoletta Calzolari Zamorani, Instituto Linguistica Computazionale del CNR, Pisa.
